PM Imran khan visits Lahore on Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s 41st death anniversary.


Lahore - The Prime Minister Imran Khan visit Lahore today (Saturday) to hold meetings with Punjab cabinet members over the coronavirus situation.
According to media details, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar will brief PM Khan on measures to provide ration for poor families

  • Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Lahore to attend a ceremony at Governor House. Some participants of the ceremony will donate money to the Prime Minister’s COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund.
  • The 41st death anniversary of PPP founder and Pakistan’s first elected prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is being marked today. A simple ceremony will be held in Larkana without the traditional rally. His shrine has been opened only for family.
  • Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has admitted that the actual cases of COVID-19 across Sindh must be more than the known cases. He said a lot of people would test positive if more testing was conducted.
  • As of Saturday, 2,579 known cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan. 39 patients have lost their aganst coronavirus.
  • ICYMI: PM Khan announced on Friday tax concessions for the construction sector and industries linked with it in order to increase employment opportunities amid the coronavirus pandemic. 
The prime minister made the announcement while briefing the media in Islamabad.He said those investing in the construction sector would not be asked about their sources of income.
Fixed tax would now be introduced in the construction sector, PM Khan said.
He said investors would be given up to 90% exemption in fixed tax, in case they invested in projects under the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority.
Withholding tax would be lifted from construction-related industries, except steel and cement, according to the prime minister.
The government was also bringing down the sales tax in coordination with the provinces, he said.
PM Khan said there would be no capital gain tax on the sale of a residential property.
He announced the formation of the Construction Industry Development Board in the country, besides Rs.30 billion subsidy on the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme.
